Sep 21, 2009
Gary Parnell has joined the Utah State University Ephraim Center as a senior faculty member and administrator. Parnell will teach courses for the School of Teacher Education and Leadership, and will also direct administrative aspects of the USU Ephraim Center.
Gary Straquadine, dean and executive director over the Southwest Region, is pleased to welcome Parnell to the Regional Campuses and Distance Education community.
“Dr. Parnell is a rare find because he knows the community, he knows Snow College, and he knows USU’s outreach expectations,” said Straquadine. “I believe that in bringing Dr. Parnell to the USU Ephraim center, we have found a way to demonstrate to the community that we are serious about our relationship with Snow College.”
Gary Parnell joins Utah State University after 31 years as a faculty member at Snow College where he most recently served as education department chair. Prior to his arrival at Snow College, Parnell was involved in education in Utah, California, and Southern Africa.
Parnell received a bachelor’s degree in history from Brigham Young University, a master’s degree in English from San Jose State, and a doctorate in education from the University of Utah.
